Also, more hiking that’s so intense it leaves my back soaked in sweat in 2023, please.

It might sound weird, but 2022 was one of my favorite years so far.

Returning to the Netherlands has proved to be one of my all-time best decisions. I became co-Director at Human Leaders, a movement of amazing people who are changing what work looks and feels like.

I’ve researched burnout, hosted an amazing podcast, been through a divorce, traveled around Europe, and am now in Australia for about two months as we transition into 2023.

It has not been without challenge. And yet, this year taught me how important it is to have the courage to listen to, and act on, my wise intuition. No matter how scary it might seem at the time, it always works.

At Amsterdam airport last week, I sat with a coffee and journaled about intentions and a vision for 2023.

I started with 5 key, intentional words. Mapped out in a broad sense what they mean. Then distilled the specific practices and habits that will support me to meet my goals.

As a recovering control freak, I’m careful not to get too deeply ensconced in exactly how things “should” look or be. Excessive attachment to things working out exactly as I expect is fraught. Instead, I’ll aim to balance accountability and determination with flexibility and…
