4 Ways to Get Perspective — Fast

When you need objectivity, travel isn’t always on the cards. Here’s what is.

I’ve just returned from five days in the French countryside followed by a week in Copenhagen. The French sojourn was for an 18 kilometer run along a river in Champagne with a gorgeous group of friends. Denmark was a work trip.

Both were exquisite.

Back in Amsterdam, I feel super grateful. Travel always gives me refreshed perspective.

I’ve had conversations, experiences and insights that sharpen my gaze. Goals feel clearer. Boundaries are more distinct.

Since my earliest overseas experience, travel has helped me connect with my truest self. So often, travel has given me the perspective I need to make bold, authentic choices.

And yet, fabulous international adventures aren’t always an option. Whether it’s a pandemic, a skiing injury, a lower financial ebb or just a tight schedule, I can’t always book a flight somewhere for that potent hit of objectivity.

So, what are some other ways we can get perspective in day-to-day life?
