The answer is not straightforward. That’s because the experience of burnout can look and feel very different from one person to the next. Burnout can be an invisible syndrome. Because of the stigma around it, people tend to hide their symptoms from themselves and others. Someone might look totally fine on the outside, and yet be burned to a crisp within.
There are some symptoms that are common in burnout. This list is not exhaustive. It is intended to give an impression of the different ways burnout can manifest and how intense its effects can be.
